Since I have never seen an original ArmaLite AR-7 with a serial number below 50,000, I SPECULATE that serial numbers began at 50,000. The original ArmaLite AR-7 (designed by Eugene Stoner of AR-10/AR-15 fame) was introduced in 1959, and discontinued in 1973, when Charter Arms bought the rights to the design. This is the updated serial number info that I have - based upon around 800 data points The earliest 1st Gen - 0 to 19,000 have NO barrel ADDRESS and s/n is on lower right corner on right side of frame.
